一、師資聘任申請表及自傳：一份(內容包括申請本校的緣由、服事的異象、得救蒙召見證、事奉與教導的經歷、神學教育理念等)。
二、Vitae：一份。
三、學術推薦信(不拘格式)：二封。
四、牧長推薦信：一封(請牧長填寫彌封後直接寄至本校、或掃描後email到本校)。
五、近五年內學術著作、研究成果目錄〈請列清冊〉：一份。
六、學歷證件影本〈國外學歷：請申請人向駐外館辦妥驗證〉：一份。

已排定博士論文口試日期於5個月內完成(請附證明)之博士生，可先遞件申請應徵；經駐外館處驗證之學歷證件（包括畢業證書、成績單)後補。

七、最高學歷之歷年成績證明影本：一份〈國外學歷：請申請人向駐外館辦妥驗證；已領教育部助理教授級以上教師證書教師者，免付成績證明〉
申請人停留於國外當地學校之修業時間：
持博士學位者，累計修業時間至少須滿十六個月；碩士、博士學位同時於同校系（所）修習者，累計修業時間至少須滿二十四個月。
八、國外學歷者：國外學歷修業起迄期間之入出國主管機關核發之入出國紀錄一份。但申請人係外國人或僑民者，免附。
九、教育部助理教授級以上教師證書影本(如有。
十、博士學位論文影本：一份(以外文撰寫者，附具中文摘要，其以英文以外之外文撰寫者，得以英文摘要代之)。

Faculty Position in Old Testament

Position

China Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (CES) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Old Testament at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.

CES, called by God to uphold the evangelical faith through the training of His servants for the advancement of His Kingdom, is located in Bade District, Taoyuan City, northern Taiwan. Our primary mission is to serve Chinese churches and Christians in Taiwan and around the world.

Applicants should resonate deeply with the mission and vision of CES and demonstrate a clear commitment to evangelical theological education. Candidates must be able to subscribe to CES’s Theological Position and Statement of Faith.

Rank: Full-time Assistant Professor or above

Qualifications and Expectations

  1. The candidate must hold a PhD or ThD in Old Testament, Hebrew Bible, or a closely related field from an institution recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan or an equivalent accredited institution overseas.
  2. The candidate must be able to subscribe to and affirm the theological position and Statement of Faith of CES.
  3. The candidate should demonstrate active participation in the life and ministry of a local church. A pastoral recommendation affirming the applicant’s Christian faith, church involvement, and ministry is required. Pastoral ministry experience is highly desirable.
  4. Candidates who hold a Taiwan Ministry of Education teaching certificate at Assistant Professor or above will be given preference.
  5. Teaching experience, particularly at the graduate level, is preferred.
  6. The successful candidate should demonstrate academic excellence and broad competency in Old Testament studies, together with a strong commitment to theological education and the formation of Christian leaders.
  7. The successful candidate should be capable of teaching CES’s foundational courses in the Old Testament, including the Pentateuch, Historical Books, Poetic and Wisdom Books, and the Prophets, as well as Biblical Hebrew. The candidate should also be prepared to teach electives and advanced seminars in areas related to his or her area of specialization.

Applicants should submit one hard copy and one electronic copy in PDF format of the following materials:

1. Faculty Application Form and Personal Statement
Please include the reasons for applying to CES, your vision for Christian ministry, testimony of conversion and calling, ministry and teaching experience, theological and educational philosophy, and other relevant information.

2. Curriculum Vitae (Vitae)
Please provide a current and complete curriculum vitae.

3. Two Academic Letters of Recommendation
No specific format is required.

4. One Pastoral Recommendation Letter
The pastor or church leader should complete the recommendation form, seal it, and mail it directly to CES, or scan it and email it to the school.

5. List of Academic Publications and Research Accomplishments from the Past Five Years
Please provide a complete list of publications and research accomplishments.

6. Copies of Academic Credentials
Applicants with academic degrees earned outside Taiwan must have their academic credentials officially authenticated by the relevant Taiwan overseas mission or representative office.

Doctoral candidates whose dissertation defense is scheduled to be completed within five months of the application date may submit an application before completing the degree. In such cases, documentation confirming the scheduled dissertation defense should be provided. Officially authenticated academic credentials, including the diploma and transcript, may be submitted subsequently.

7. Official Transcript of the Highest Degree Earned
Applicants with degrees earned outside Taiwan must have their transcripts officially authenticated by the relevant Taiwan overseas mission or representative office.

Applicants who already hold a Taiwan Ministry of Education teaching certificate at the rank of Assistant Professor or above are exempt from submitting academic transcripts.

For academic degrees earned outside Taiwan, the applicant must have completed the required period of study abroad:

  • For a doctoral degree: at least 16 months of cumulative study abroad.
  • For applicants who completed both master’s and doctoral degrees in the same department/program at the same institution: at least 24 months of cumulative study abroad.

8. Entry and Exit Records for Overseas Study
Applicants with academic degrees earned outside Taiwan must submit an official record of entry into and departure from Taiwan covering the period of overseas study, issued by the competent authority.

Foreign nationals and overseas Chinese applicants are exempt from this requirement.

9. Copy of Taiwan Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
If applicable, please provide a copy of a teaching certificate at Assistant Professor or above.

10. Copy of Doctoral Dissertation
Please submit one copy of the doctoral dissertation.

For dissertations written in a language other than Chinese, a Chinese abstract must be provided. For dissertations written in a language other than English, an English abstract may be submitted instead of a Chinese abstract.
